This exotic Tropical pitcher plant x Singalana (Nepenthes x Singalana), is a true must-have for all carnivorous plant enthusiasts. It appears to be a Nepenthes hybrid between two natural tropical pitcher plants. This Nepenthes cross between Nepenthes singalana and Nepenthes ventricosa produces beautiful, large red carnivorous plant cups. Tropical pitcher plant x Singalana (Nepenthes x Singalana), needs bright, indirect light, but should be kept out of direct sunlight to avoid burning the leaves. Nepenthes x Singalana does best in temperatures of 24-30°C during the day and cooler temperatures of 15-20°C at night. Nepenthes x singalana, needs a high humidity of 50-80%, which you can achieve by regular misting or using a humidifier. Water the plant with distilled or rainwater, as tap water can be harmful. Use a well-draining substrate, such as sphagnum moss, perlite and orchid soil, to prevent root rot. Nepenthes x Singalana obtains its nutrition from insects, but you can occasionally feed small insects to stimulate growth. Repot the plant every few years in a pot with good drainage. Avoid overwatering and ensure that the substrate remains slightly moist. Nepenthes x Singalana does not require additional fertilizers, but can be lightly fertilized with special liquid fertilizer for carnivorous plants. Prune Nepenthes x Singalana as necessary to control growth.
