The more sunlight Dionaea muscipula 'Space’ receives, the deeper red its leaf lobes become, contrasting sharply with its bright green leaf stalks.

This Venus flytrap is a rosette-shaped carnivorous plant. The rosette is formed by leaf stalks, at the ends of which are traps formed by the terminal portions of the plant's leaves. Hinged leaf lobes resembling the claws of a bear, snap shut when triggered by prey touching the tiny hairs on the inner leaf surfaces. Prey are attracted by the sweet-smelling fragrance that Dionaea muscipula 'Space’ emits into the atmosphere.
Dionaea muscipula 'Space’ can never have too much light! It can be cultivated in a sunny spot indoors such as on a window ledge. The growing medium needs to be kept wet but only with rainwater, boiled water or demineralised water. As an exotic garden plant, it does best close to a water feature such as a pond or in a wet and sunny location.
