Dionaea muscipula 'Shark teeth' 'Starter' - CarniVFT151
Dionaea muscipula 'Shark teeth' starter is a small rooted version of Dionaea muscipula 'Shark teeth'. This cultivar takes its name from its sharp little teeth. When the trap’s leaf lobes are open, it very much resembles the gaping mouth of a shark. The blood red upper surfaces of the traps develop best if exposed to plenty of sunlight.

Dionaea muscipula 'Shark teeth' starter has traps at the end of its leaf stalks with which it catches insects and spiders. Prey is attracted by the familiar combination of a sweet-smelling fragrance and the vivid red colour of the trap leaves. When an insect triggers it, the trap snaps shut at remarkable speed. Once the Venus flytrap has digested the insect, the trap reopens in order to catch more insects.
Dionaea muscipula 'Shark teeth' starter' is not difficult to cultivate either indoors as a houseplant or outside in the garden. It needs to be kept constantly wet preferably with plenty of sunlight. In the winter months, Dionaea muscipula 'Shark teeth” starter is best moved to a cooler place indoors or outside and given less water so it can enjoy a period of dormancy (winter rest).
