The tropical Pitcher Plant x Sam or in Latin Nepenthes x Sam has a trailing growth habit and produces light green to yellow pitchers with striking red lips and spots. The leaves are elongated and green, with a clearly visible midrib. The pitchers are green to yellow in colour with red spots and a burgundy red rim and lid. Nepenthes x Sam is a fast growing tropical pitcher plant and can reach a height of 15o to 250 cm. The pitchers are between 6-12 centimetres high. Nepenthes (Tropical Pitcher Plant) × Sam is suitable for indoor environments and prefers a bright position without direct sunlight. The substrate should be acidic, preferably peaty, and this tropical pitcher plant needs high humidity, ideally between 60% and 100%.
