This Nepthenes species has been specially cultivated for its red colour, hence its name. This variety is easy to cultivate and needs little care apart from enough water and sunlight. Araflora offers several sizes but all the plants remain compact so they are ideal as house plants.

Nepthenes x “Bloody Mary” is a legally registered and protected species. In the right conditions, it will produce yellowish brown flowers all year round. This is a young and therefore small plant from the various sizes that Araflora has for sale.
Nepthenes x “Bloody Mary” needs bright light but should not be subjected to full sun or it may become dehydrated. It needs to be cultivated in a well-drained medium, watered often and sprayed regularly, preferably with rainwater or distilled water. The best temperature at which to cultivate Nepthenes x “Bloody Mary” is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius and certainly no lower than 10 degrees Celsius or higher than 30 degrees. Peat makes a good growing medium when the plant needs repotting. It can be pruned if it becomes too big.
