Nepenthes ventricosa 'Porcelain' 'Alba' is a highland species of tropical pitcher plant endemic to the Philippines. It can grow to a height of several metres if it has an opportunity to form lianas, the long-stemmed, vines that climb up to the canopy of the rain forest. The pitchers are white. It produces clusters of yellowish brown flowers throughout the year.
Nepthenes ventricosa requires a great deal of sunlight. However, direct sunlight will result in dehydration of the plant and should therefore be avoided. The best temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius but in any case no lower than 10 degrees or higher than 30 degrees. The plant needs watering regularly with rainwater or distilled water. Tap water can lead to excessive mineral deposits around the plant’s delicate roots. Nepenthes ventricosa needs spraying at regular intervals and a relatively high level of humidity. The best growing medium is neutral to slightly acidic peat. No additional feeding is required.
