The Brainea insignis is an exotic type of dwarf tree fern which can grow up to a meter high. A nice feature of this species is that the young fronds are pink-red of color 'Resembling salmon.' The Braunea insignis is hardy to about -2 degrees Celsius.

Beainea insignis is found in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan, Malaisia, Indonesia and China, in short, in South-East Asia. It is a relatively unknown and hard to find species of small tree fern in Europe.
Water tree ferns in the crown. Moisturize the trunk during warm weather. During frost with temperatures lower than -2 degrees Celsius it is best to move this fern indoors or protect it against the frost: just below the crown tree ferns are most vulnerable to frost.
