Syngonium Red Spot is a rather hard to get Syngonium cultivar, Araflora is therefore proud to be able to sell this plant. It is named Syngonium Red Spot, but the beautiful coloured foliage is dark green with pink to red flecks and dots on the leaves. Syngonium plants are also nicknamed goosefoot plants, Arrowhead plants and Elephant ear plants due to the striking shape of their leaves. Syngonium plants are native to the tropics of South and Central America. Syngonium Red Spot is a real climber, but when the plant matures it might get rather viney so then it can also be kept in a basket as a hanging plant. Araflora advises to place Syngonium Red Spot on a spot unreachable for pets and little children, since it is toxic when consumed.
Syngonium Red Spot prefers to be placed on a spot where it receives indirect but bright light, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight for too long because this might discolour and scorch its beautiful leaves. Araflora provides Syngonium Red Spot with a well-draining soil mixture that should be kept moist but avoid overwatering because this can cause root rot. The plant can therefore be watered when the top soil layer is dry to touch, when the leaves are drooping you need to increase the watering. During spring and summertime Syngonium Red Spot can receive some regular water soluble houseplant fertilizer once a month, but dilute it to half of the recommended dosage. The plant will do fine with an average room humidity, but it can be beneficial to mist the plant on a regular basis. Syngonium Red Spot will thrive with temperatures between 18°C-30°C, avoid dropping the temperature below 15°C and avoid placing them in a cold draft during the colder months.
