Syngonium ‘Mottled Mojito’ is a cultivated plant species that is grown mainly for its extraordinary leaves. This plant shows a hanging or climbing growth habit with older age. From a main rhizome, several consecutive arrow-shaped leaves are formed. The veined leaves are green with a highly diverse, yellow to white pattern of stains. Mature leaves could reach a maximum length of 30 or more, if conditions are right. This plant rarely flowers. The inflorescence looks comparable to other inflorescences within this genus and is not that extraordinary. Propagation of this plant is mostly done by cuttings. Let cuttings root in sphagnum moss or in water.
Syngonium ‘Mottled Mojito’ is mainly grown in living rooms, larger terraria, or warm greenhouses. Provide this plant with constant warm and relative humid conditions. It grows best with a temperature between 16 and 30 degrees Celsius. Preferably, humidity is not lower than 70%. This species prefers indirect light and/or direct sunshine, only in the morning. Shade this plant against mid-day and direct sunlight in summer while the leaves could burn by sunlight too intensely. The soil should be humus rich and moist retentive. Syngonium ‘Mottled Mojito’ should never dry out completely. Frequent waterings are key for this plant but do not let the soil become swampy. Provide a standard green plant fertilizer once a month in the growing season.
