Sundew x beleziana (Drosera) is a natural hybrid between Drosera intermedia and Drosera rotundifolia. This sundew, commonly found in Scandinavia, captures insects with its sticky trapping leaves. The flowers are white and can grow up to 30 cm tall above the plant. The traps of this Drosera are on long petioles and extend straight up from the plant's leaves. When a fly, spider, or other small creature lands on a dewy drop of glue, it gets stuck. The plant then slowly rolls a leaf around its prey to digest it. Araflora sells many varieties of sundew; be sure to check out the species we offer.
Sundew x beleziana 'starter' (Drosera x Beleziana), is a hardy sundew species. It is a carnivorous plant that is also suitable for outside, for example at the pond. Drosera x Beleziana, also known as Sundew x beleziana, requires specific care for a successful breeding. Provide clear, direct light, since this sundew grows well in light conditions. Use distilled or rainwater and keep the soil moist, but prevent stagnant water. A humidity of 50-80% is ideal; A terrarium can help to keep these levels for your Drosera x beleziana. The plant grows best at temperatures between 5 °C and 15 °C, with cooler nights that are also beneficial for this rare Sundew. A well-draining, nutrient-poor mix of Sphagnum, peat and Perliet is essential for the health of Drosera x beleziana. This carnivorous plant catches insects for nutrients, but can also survive without extra fertilization. Ensure sufficient air circulation to prevent mold and regularly check teasing. During the winter, Sundew x beleziana has a rest period, so the water gift decreases during this time. During the summer (growing season) it's best to put a dish with a layer of water underneath the pot.
