Drosera rubrifolia is endemic to South Africa and has a compact rosette which, under the right circumstances and plenty of light changes into a beautiful bright red colour. Drosera rubrifolia has much in common with Drosera natalensis but has a flatter petiole and rounder, flattened trapping leaf tips.
Drosera rubrifolia is best cultivated in a mixture of peat, sand and perlite. The Drosera rubrifolia, like other South African sundew species, needs a warm and humid climate. Therefore, Drosera rubrifolia is most suitable for a sunny windowsill, or in a terrarium with artificial lighting.
