Drosera rotundifolia is one of the most widespread sundew species. It has a circumboreal distribution, being found in all of northern Europe, much of Siberia and large parts of North America. Because Drosera rotundifolia appears in the northern hemisphere, it is dormant in wintertime. This carnivorous plant is most suitable for placement on a windowsill or outside.

Drosera rotundifolia or ‘round-leaved sundew’ is a carnivorous plant that occurs primarily in the Northern hemisphere. This carnivorous plant is most suitable for a windowsill or even outside. As insects get stuck on its trapping leaves, the tentacles, which are covered in dewdrops, fold around the insect. Since Drosera rotundifolia primarily grows in colder climates, it is dormant in the wintertime.
Drosera rotundifolia grows best in an airy soil mixture of peat and perlite. During the summer (growing season) it's best to put a dish with a layer of water underneath the pot.
