Plant information: Scindapsus 'Nearly Black'

The Scindapsus treubii ‘’Nearly Black’’ is a rare cultivar which is originally found in the rainforests of Asia. There, this plant likes to climb trees, but it is perfectly suitable for you to keep as a hanging plant. The new leaves of this Scindapsus start with a dark green color, but get darker and darker once the plant ages. The leaves are firm and have a leather like feel to them.

Plant care: Scindapsus 'Nearly Black'

The Scindapsus treubii ‘’Nearly Black’’ is best kept in a spot with bright but indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight can cause damage to the leaves. The ideal temperature for the Scindapsus lies between 18˚C and 24˚C. The plant will definitely appreciate it if you spray some rainwater on it every now and then. When the first few centimeters of the soil feel dry, it’s time to water the plant again (preferably with rainwater). If you find the plant folding up its leaves, you probably need to give it some more water.
