Cycas rumphii is a cycad named after the German-Dutch naturalist and soldier Rumphius, who was the first Westerner to come into contact with this species of Cycas in the seventeenth century on the Indonesian island of Ambon. Sago is a starchy substance, which - if prepared properly - can be eaten.
A Cycas is not difficult to care for. Never put the plant in full sun, otherwise the dark green needle leaves will discolour. And...don't forget to water! For indoor or outdoor use. Watch out with severe frost. As far as is known, the Cycas rumphii has no separate requirements.
