Polystachya fallax generally doesn't grow much larger than about 10 centimeters. However, we offer a somewhat larger variety. In the wild, this orchid can be found in the African countries of Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Zaire. There Polystachya fallax grows on trees at altitudes between 1,350 to 1,600 meters. The beautiful and fragrant flowers grow in groups of 7 flowers.
Polystachya fallax is relatively easy to care for. Keep the orchid in a greenhouse or other bright place, where it gets a lot of sunlight, good has air circulation, temperatiures between 18⁰C and 22⁰C and a humidity of around 80%. The best substrate is a piece of bark/cork, but orchid mix will also work. For optimal growth, water with rain or distilled water whenever the substrate has become slightly dry, approximately 3-5 times a week, making sure that the moisture can drain away. Do not over fertilize. Prune old flowers. You can find these and other growing supplies under our 'plant accessories' section.
