Pleurothallis eumecocaulon - Orchid138
Pleurothallis eumecocaulon - Orchid138
The most striking characteristic of the small Pleurothallis eumecocaulon orchid are the small white flowers on a stem. This mini orchid, which originates in the humid forests of Costa Rica and Panama, is not difficult to care for and is therefore an ideal terrarium and paludarium plant. This small orchid also has a graceful shape: a long, thin stem with an elongated oval and pointed leaf.

The Pleurothallis eumecocaulon can be found in the habitat of frog species such as Oophaga pumilio and Dendrobates auratus. There this small orchid grows mainly on trees and branches among ferns, bromeliads and mosses. In a tropical terrarium, this orchid can be placed in the back preferably on fern root, another moisture-retaining substrate or tied up on an epiphyte branch.
The Pleurothallis eumecocaulon prefers a light spot out of direct sunlight. Water and spray daily with distilled water. Provide an airy substrate, place the orchid on fern root or an epiphyte stem, or put Sphagnum around the roots if the plant is not placed in a substrate to ensure sufficient moisture.
