The Masdevallia oreas, also known as ‘Mountain Masdevallia’, is an orchid which is originally from Bolivia. It grows at elevations of 2000 to 2200 meters. The orchid has a three pieced, red flower which blooms in spring. The flowers grow to be around 2,5 centimeters.
This orchid is best kept at temperatures of around 20 to 22,5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature lies around 15 degrees Celsius. Don’t put this orchid in direct sunlight, as it will likely cause some damage to the leaves. It’s important not to let the soil dry out completely, but be careful not to soak the soil. If possible, use rainwater to water the orchid.
