Dioscorea bulbifera or Air potato is a kind of exotic 'Climbing' plant with prettily veined, heart-shaped leaves. In the axils of the plant a kind of 'Air potatoes' grow which can be picked to plant next year, in order to make new plants grow. Some types are edible, but as far as we know, this one isn'T. After 2 to 3 years this plant starts growing lovely small fragrant flowers. The plant originates in Asia. In the vicinity of trees this plant can start climbing up the trunk. In some areas 'For example in Florida, USA' this plant is invasive.
In Northern Europe this plant can be kept outside, as pot plant or indoors.
