Chamaedorea metallica (Metal Palm or Miniature Fishtail Palm) is a Mexican plant that gets a metallic blue-green sheen over the leaves when there is sufficient shade. Chamaedorea metallica is recognizable by its split leaf, which looks like a fish tail.

Chamaedorea metallica grows in southeastern Mexico at heights of up to 600 meters. The leaves grow straight upwards and can reach 75 cm in length and 40 cm in width. It likes a moist, but well drained soil.
Frow the Chamaedorea metallica in a moist, humus-rich soil. It can withstand low temperatures, but is not hardy. Mist the leaves regularly.
