Utricularia alpina x humboldtii ‘Nudlinger Flair’ was created by crossing two remarkable species, which really shows in this hybrid. Lilac flowers with a papery appearance grow from a long flower stem. In the middle you will find two eye-catching yellow stripes. The leaves of Utricularia alpina x humboldtii ‘Nudlinger Flair’ are shaped like a spoon and bright green. Utricularia alpina originates from the north of South America and the Antilles. Utricularia humboldtii can also be found in South America, where it makes its home in the nodes of bromeliads.
Utricularia alpina x humboldtii ‘Nudlinger Flair’ isn't hard to take care of. It is carnivorous, but doesn't need to be. The tropical natural habitat of the two original species result in this hybrid needing a humid environment around 28⁰C. You can keep it in a terrarium or on a warm and humid spot on the windowsill. Its flexibility in habitat makes it possible to keep it in shallow water with sand, attached to a piece of bark or in a pot. The ideal substrate would be a mixture of peat moss and perlite.
