Plant care: Bird of paradise plant 'Strelitzia reginae'

The Bird of Paradise Flower is a plant that will grow in the sun as well as in half-shadow. The Strelitzia reginae needs some fertilizer about once a month. The soil must always be slightly moist, so you should water it regularly. It is best cultivated in a big container, which can be moved from the inside to terrace or balcony and back because when the temperature does reach below 5˚ Celsius [23˚F] the Bird of Paradise Flower has to be fetched inside. From May to October the Strelitzia reginae is an excellent outside plant.
