Plant information: Begonia x 'Silver Maples'

Begonia x ‘Silver Maples’ is a relatively easy plant to grow. This species originates from the tropical forests of Brazil. The leaves of this plant are broad, hand-shaped, and end in pointy tips. Like the name suggests, the leaves look a bit similar to the leaves of a maple tree. The veins of the leaves are mint- to bright green, where the rest of the leaves are silver or white. Petioles are hairless just like the leaves. Overall, the plant could show some red pigmentation when it receives enough light. Begonia x ‘Silver Maples’ could produce small but bright pink flowers in summer. Flowers are either male or female. Most commonly, propagation is done by taking leaf or stem cuttings. When both male and female flowers are available, propagation by seed could also be done.
