Begonia scapigera is quite easy to care for. It's an ideal terrarium plant because it needs a high humidity and temperatures between 15⁰C and 35⁰C . Under an artificial light, it should be in a semi-bright place. Keep out of direct sunlight in summer. Water the plant with lukewarm water when the top layer of soil has become dry. In humid terrariums this can be limited to only a few times a year! Good air ventilation is important. This ensures that diseases and infections have less chance of getting a grip on the plant. You can use a mixture of perlite and another fibrous material such as coconut as a substrate. Water must be able to drain well at all times. Give Begonia scapigera normal plant food once every two weeks if you are not keeping the plant in a terrarium.
