Plant information: Begonia rajah 'M'

Begonia rajah is a relatively rare variety. The plant can flower up to five times a year and will do so with a bunch of pink flowers on a stem with a deep red color. These complement the leaf, which in itself is already very eye-catching. Like other begonias, the veins are deep in the leaf, but with Begonia rajah they are also apple green. This species has an adult size of about 10cm.

Plant care: Begonia rajah 'M'

Begonia rajah is best kept in a terrarium due to its specific needs. Place the begonia in partial shade, away from direct sunlight. Make sure that the temperature cannot drop below 12⁰C. The ideal temperature is between 22-27⁰C. The soil must be allowed to dry out in between waterings. Preferably with lukewarm water. The humidity should be between 60% and 80% during the day and around 90% at night. You can give a small amount of plant food once or twice a month. A mix of peat and perlite is the best substrate for Begonia rajah. You can purchase these in our "plant supplies" section, along with many other supplies for your plant collection. To prevent rotting, we recommend cutting old leaves and flowers from the plant.
