The epiphytic creeper Anthurium scandens is native to the tropical forests of Costa Rica and surrounding tropical countries. The species is a favorite as both a domestic and a terrarium plant. The leaves of Anthurium scandens are shiny green and they grow from a thin brown climbing stem. The flowers are cigar-shaped and pale green and after flowering small white berries develop.
