Alocasia brancifolia is a rare green houseplant from the aroid family. Leaves grow to 60 centimeters and arise from a rosette. The arrow shaped leaves are highly dissected which gives them a fern shaped look. This plant grows most optimal in warm greenhouses or indoors.

Alocasia brancifolia’s dominant feature are the leaves. The bright green leaves grow to a length of 60 centimeters when mature, have a bright green color and are arrow shaped. Different compared to other species of this genus is that the leaves are heavily dissected. This makes the appearance similar to a broad fern shaped leaf. Leaflets are guided by a prominent green vein. All leaves from this plant arise from a terrestrial rosette and have a plain green petiole. In some cases, the plant could produce a plain inflorescence from the base like other species within this genus. Propagation is mostly done by shoots or seeds.
Put Alocasia brancifolia in an intermediate or warm, high humidity environment. Temperatures below 16 degrees Celsius are tolerated but are not optimal for ideal growth. In nature, this plant grows as a terrestrial plant in the hot and humid forests of Southeast Asia and so does not require high light conditions. Bright shade or bright indirect light is most optimal, try to avoid direct sunlight. This plant grows best in organic fast draining soil, specialized anthurium soils or similar works best. Do not let this plant dry out completely but prevent the soil from getting soggy. Fertilize this plant with green plant fertilizer at half the strength in growing season.
