Roridula (Flycatcher bush)
The Roridula genus, commonly known as the Flycatcher Bush, is a fascinating insect-trapping plant native to South Africa. There are two species of Roridula; Rodidula gorgonias and Roridula dentata. While Roridula species are often grouped with carnivorous plants, Roridula is technically not fully carnivorous because it lacks digestive enzymes and glands. Instead, this exotic plant has developed a unique mutualistic relationship with symbiotic insects to obtain nutrients.
