Dionaea muscipula 'Werewolf Ara' - CarniVFT111a
Dionaea muscipula 'Werewolf Ara' - CarniVFT111a
‘Werewolf Ara’ is a cultivated variety of Venus flytrap, first propagated by Araflora several years ago. It has now developed into a fully-fledged cultivar. The traps of the plant are reminiscent of a werewolf, hence its name. It has wide, fleshy teeth tapering to a point rather like the claws of the mythological beast. Dionaea muscipula 'Werewulf Ara' does not have trigger hairs on the surface of its leaf lobes so its traps to do ...
not close. Nevertheless the plant thrives with plenty of light and water.

Venus flytraps are native to North America where they grow in poor soil in boggy areas. In the summer months, their leaf stalks grow longer so they can absorb maximum light in the dense vegetation which is their natural habitat. There are numerous varieties of Venus flytrap. Dionaea muscipula ‘Werewulf Ara’ is an exceptional cultivar - a variety produced in cultivation by selective breeding.
Dionaea muscipula ‘Werewulf Ara’ thrives in a humid environment, preferably in a position where it can enjoy full sun. Whether cutivated indoors or outside, it needs plenty of light. The growing medium should be kept moist with water such as rain water or demineralised water that does not contain minerals or nutrients.
