This enormous Venus flytrap cultivar looks like something from “The Little Shop of Horrors”. It has exceptionally large leaf lobes capable of catching prey which come near it. Dionaea muscipula 'Jumbo' makes an impressive sight in a location with plenty of light such as on a window ledge or in a terrarium.

Dionaea muscipula 'Jumbo' is a flytrap cultivar that has been produced in cultivation by selective breeding, Venus flytraps are carnivorous plants that are native to North America where they grow in boggy areas in poor soil. They obtain nutrients from their immediate environment, including insects and spiders which form a large part of their prey.
Dionaea muscipula 'Jumbo' likes plenty of light. The more sunlight it receives, the more vibrant its colours become. It needs plenty of water containing little or no calcium, preferably rain water, osmosis water, distilled water or demineralised water. The ideal growing medium is nutritionally poor such as 50% sphagnum and 50% perlite or three equal parts of peat, orchid bark and sphagnum.
