Dionaea muscipula 'Big mouth' is a cultivar first propagated in 1998 by Tony Camilleri, the carnivorous plants expert and author. Venus flytraps are originally from North America. Plenty of sunlight and water create the ideal environment in which Dionaea muscipula 'Big mouth' thrives.
Dionaea muscipula 'Big mouth' needs to be kept moist at all times with rainwater, boiled water or demineralised water and preferably exposed to direct sunlight. Venus flytraps do not need feeding as they obtain the ntutrients they require from the insects they catch.
