Nepthenes x maxima “Hybride” is endemic to Indonesia and New Guinea where it grows at elevations ranging from 40 to 2,500 metres. This range of elevations clearly indicates its adaptability to different conditions. It can grow to 4 metres with pitchers from 15 to 30 centimetres. When it flowers, it produces clusters of yellowish brown flowers and will do so all year round, provided the conditions are right.
Nepthenes x maxima “Hybride” requires plenty of sunlight, but not full sun or it will become dehydrated. The best temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, certainly no lower than 10 degrees Celsius or higher than 30 degrees. It needs plenty of rainwater or distilled water and a well-drained pot. It also needs spraying regularly with water so the pitchers retain water. Nepthenes x maxima “Hybride” needs a relatively high level of humidity, thrives in neutral to slightly acidic peat and does not require feeding.
