Nepenthes x lowii x ventricosa 'XL' - CarniNep119c
Nepenthes “lowii x ventricosa” is a cultivated plant species and does not occur naturally in the wild. Botanical pitcher plants grow in tropical, mountainous forests, mainly in South-East Asia. Provide temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the humidity above 60%, preferably and allow for excellent ventilation. Give this plant bright indirect light. Direct sunlight in the morning or evening is also suitable. Pot this plant in a soil mixture consisting mainly of peat or sphagnum moss. ...
Regular potting soil is not suitable as this contains too many nutrients that could burn the roots. Water this plant regularly, prevent this plant from drying out completely. Soggy conditions are tolerated for a short amount of time. Tap water often contains too many minerals, use demineralized or rainwater instead. Fertilizing this plant is not necessary. However, it is possible to ‘feed’ this plant by putting caught insects in its pitchers.

Nepenthes “lowii x ventricosa” is a carnivorous plant from the pitcher plant family. This vining plant produces pitchers at the end of every oval to lanceolate leaf which could catch insects, among other things, for its nutrients. This cultivated species could grow out to a small bush or shrub when mature. The plant has a wider circumference at the opening of each pitcher. The slippery edge of the pitcher, also known as the peristome, is relatively broad and has red and yellow striations, similar to a barcode. The rest of the pitcher is a fainter burgundy to pink. Mature pitchers could reach a length of around 20 cm. This plant could be propagated by separating smaller plants from the main plant at the base. Also, propagation by seed is possible.
