Drosera scorpiodes is the largest of the pygmy species, and is endemic to Australia. This carnivorous plant, like most pygmy species needs gritty and dry surroundings to thrive. Drosera scorpioides forms towers by growing a stem on its older generations of dead leaves. This sundew, like other pygmy species grows flowers as well as gemmae, through which it can propagate asexually.
Drosera scorpioides is best cultivated in a mixture of sand, peat and perlite. The Drosera scorpioides thrives when exposed to intense sunlight on a windowsill or in an indoor terrarium. When Drosera scorpiodes grows gemmae, they can be removed and used for cloning of the sundew.
