The wide-leaf version of the Cape sundew is a low maintenance carnivorous plant that grows naturally in South Africa. This exotic plant grows quite quickly and is very effective at catching insects by its upstanding elongated sticky leaves that roll up to catch the prey.
The Drosera capensis grows best in a standard peat-perlite soil mixture. Because of its resistance to extremes, the Cape sundew does well outside and inside, as long as it is kept in a sunny and humid area.
