The Stephania erecta is a tropical caudexplant. It originally grows in Thailand and Australia and thrives under high humidity. The plant has beautiful, round leaves with subtle light green veins. The round leaves show a lot of similarities to the leaves of the Pilea peperomioides.
Be careful when watering the plant. The caudex of the Stephania easily stores water and nutrients so it won’t be needing too much water. Just make sure the soil doesn’t dry out completely in between watering. The Stephania erecta thrives in a light room. Important to note: the Stephania erecta goes dormant during winter. So, don’t be alarmed when some of the leaves fall off. Give the plant some rest and start giving it some more water once spring comes back around.
