Davallia bullata is a member of the Davalliaceae family of ferns and is closely associated with Polypodiaceae. Originally it comes from the tropical and sub-tropical regions of Asia, Australia, Africa and the Pacific. It is epiphytic, that is to say in its natural environment it grows mainly on trees. A mature plant can grow to a height of 15 – 20 centimetres with a similar width.
Davallia bullata is easy to cultivate in a pot or basket and prefers to be in partial shade. It needs regular watering and spraying but care must be taken not to over water it. It needs a light and airy potting medium and a pot or basket with good drainage allowing excess water to drain away easily.
