Scindapsus treubii Moonlight 'Type B' belongs to the Scindapsus genus, the most commonly grown Scindapsus is Scindapsus pictus. Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ is compared to Scindapsus pictus a really rare plant to get. Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ has nicely dark green coloured heart-shaped leaves that also have silver glow on them. Scindapsus treubii is native to the tropics of South-East Asia. The leaves of Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ can grow relatively large, some grow up to 60cm in length. But overall the plant grows rather compact, rather shrublike, but it can start trailing and therefore Araflora advises to provide it with some support during its growth to let it climb and enable the leaves to reach their full potential. Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ is toxic when consumed by pets and humans, so put it a safe spot away from little children and pets.
Scindapsus treubii Moonlight 'Type B' has a minimum temperature range of 10°C to 12°C, it thrives with temperatures between 17°C to 25°C. The plant is really tolerant to different humidity levels, but as a tropical plant it of course prefers a higher humidity level. In order to keep up the humidity level around the plant you can mist it multiple times a week with dilute water. Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ prefers to be placed in a spot with indirect sunlight, naturally it grows in the understorey of the rainforests so it is tolerant to low light levels. Araflora uses a well-draining soil mixture with a sufficient water retention capacity. Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ doesn’t like drought, so keep the soil moist, watering is best done when the top soil layer is dry to touch (try sticking your finger in a few cm). Avoid giving the plant wet feet since this will cause root rot. During spring and summer Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ can receive some well-balanced regular houseplant fertilizer on a monthly basis.
