The ‘Green Violin’ is part of the Philodendron-family which counts hundreds of different variations. The plant originates from the tropical areas of Central- and South America. The ‘Green Violin’ is a cultivar variation of the Philodendron. The plant has beautiful, light green, shiny leaves which shapes reminds us of a violin. Next to the ‘Green Violin’, Araflora also offers the ‘Golden Violin’ which leaves are, you guessed it, golden. This plant can be used as a climber as well as a hanging plant. It is important to mention that this plant is poisonous when digested, so it might be wise to keep it at a safe distance from children and pets.
The Philodendron ‘Green Violin’ is a very easy indoor plant that thrives in a sun filled room. It’s better not to put the ‘Green Violin’ in direct sunlight because it may cause the leaves to get a slightly bleached look. The best method to check if the plant needs water is to check if the first few centimeters of the soil feel dry. This will probably amount in the ‘Green Violin’ needing water around once a week. In colder months once every two weeks will be enough. It wouldn’t hurt to sprinkle some water on its leaves a few times a week to stay on top of the humidity your Philodendron needs.
