Philodendron Golden Dragon is a nicely bred Philodendron that will form an impressive foliage. The leaves are large-sized, however the most striking is the colour patterning of the leaves. They are mostly dark green coloured but can have a mottled pattern of different shades of green. However, this mottled patter in the leaves can come and disappear again. The petioles of the plant also have a dark green colour. Philodendron Golden Dragon is a fast grower that purifies the air in your room. It also forms aerial roots, that is why you can easily propagate the plant yourself. Araflora advises to keep Philodendron Golden Dragon in a safe spot away from pets and small children, while its leaves are toxic when ingested.
Philodendron Golden Dragon thrives with a temperature between 15-25 degrees Celsius, it is important to prevent exposure to cold(er) temperatures. Aralfora advises to keep the plant in moderate light conditions, bright but indirect light is preferred. Do not put Philodendron Golden Dragon in bright direct sunlight while this can harm the plant’s foliage. Philodendron Golden Dragon prefers a higher humidity, but it will do fine with lower humidity levels too. Araflora provides Philodendron Golden Dragon with a well-draining soil that should be kept moist, but not get drenched. Watering can be done when the top 3cm of the soil are dry to touch. To stimulate its growth it can be fertilized with some regular houseplant fertilizer once a month during. While it is a fast grower you might want to prune it, which can be done without harming the plant. Try to prune it just behind the nodes which enables you to propagate the plant part you just cut off.
