The x ‘Florida Ghost’ (also known as Philodendron pedatum) is part of the Araceae-family. The Philodendron is originally from the rainforest of South America, but can also be found in the Carribean. The x ‘Florida Ghost’ got its name because the white leaves and their shape remind us of haunting ghosts. The Philodendron x ‘Florida Ghost’ is a climber, so it would thrive with the support of a plantstick.
The Philodendron thrives best in bright but indirect sunlight. Try to prevent direct sunlight on the plant, because this can cause the leaves to burn and damage its beautiful color. This plant is rather sensitive to cold temperatures, so avoid placing it in drafty areas. The best method to check if the plant needs water is to check if the first few centimeters of the soil feel dry. You can give regular plant nutrition once every month. In fall and winter, you can do this every two months.
