Pleurothallis tribuloides is a small to miniature orchid species. The sympodial growing orchid produces a couple of centimeters tall gradually narrowing spoon-shaped singular leaves. Specimen type orchids could grow out to large clumps. This orchid flowers at the end of summer and autumn. Appearing from the base of the plant, red tubular petals form a cage like structure that probably assist in pollination in nature. Propagation is most often done by dividing clumps.
This orchid appears in different high humid habitats with 300 to 1500 meters altitude. The temperature differs; this species could be grown cool or warm. This plant grows in shady conditions alternated with periods of bright indirect light. Be sure to shelter this species against direct sunlight. Use a moist retentive epiphyte substrate that should never dry out. Water this plant when the substrate is approaching dryness but prevent long still standing water around the roots. Provide this orchid with 1/4 to 1/2 dosages of orchid fertilizer with every other watering.
