Cattleya 'orange passion' likes the light, but should be kept out of direct sunlight. During winter the orchid should be getting slightly more light. The preferred temperature for Cattleya 'orange passion' is 25, with slightly colder nights. Make sure the temperature doesn't drop below 15 or rise above 30. The humidity should be around 80%. Raising the humidity slightly during the night stimulates the production of flowers. Water Cattleya 'orange passion' with rainwater or distilled water whenever the roots are slightly dried. In practise this will be around three to five times a week. Water should be able to drain from the substrate with ease. Combined with proper airflow, this will help prevent infections and disease. Orchid-mix will be a suitable substrate. You can find this and other components in our ‘Plant Accessories’ section. Fertilize with caution. Old flowers can be cut from the orchid.
