Microgramma vaccinifolia is an epiphytic fern native to the humid rainforests of South and Central America, where it grows on tree trunks and branches. This species forms a network of thin, creeping rhizomes from which glossy, oval-shaped fronds emerge. For more information about this Araflora plant , see the plant information below.
In nature grows Microgramma vaccinifolia grows on tree bark, rocks, or mossy surfaces. This species is hardy and easily adapts to various environments, as long as humidity is high. Over time, the plant forms a dense, creeping carpet, making it perfect as ground cover or wall greenery in tropical terrariums. The fern also helps maintain a stable microclimate in the terrarium by retaining moisture and improving air quality. In favorable conditions, it can form small spore capsules on the underside of the leaves, adding an additional botanical accent. For additional information about this Araflora fern, please use the symbols below. The Microgramma vaccinifolia prefers a moist, airy climate with high humidity and indirect light. - Light : Moderate to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Temperature: Ideally between 18–28°C; suitable for tropical and subtropical terrariums.- Humidity: High (70–90%); essential for healthy growth.- Substrate: Airy mix of sphagnum peat , bark and perlite, or mounted on cork, wood or stone.
- Feeding: A light dose of fern fertilizer or universal plant food once a month during the growth period.
- Pruning: Remove older leaves and overly long rhizomes to keep the plant compact.
Tip: Microgram vaccinifolia can be grown both as an epiphyte (on wood or cork) and terrestrially (in substrate). Its creeping rhizomes allow it to grow beautifully across surfaces. For more information about this Araflora plant, see the care symbols below .
