The plant Pachypodium lamerei is also called madagascarpalm, because this species from Madagascar looks a bit like palm tree. As matter of fact this sort is no family of the palms. The Pachypodium lamerei has a straight stem with spines and on the top of its stem grows a large cluster of green leaves. The Pachypodium lamerei is a popular Pachypodium species because it is easy to keep and looks so special.
The exotic plant, the Pachypodium lamerei is easy to care for and can best be treated as a type of cactus. It prefers a light spot and high temperatures. Therefore keep this type of plant at a temperature above 15° Celsius [ 50° F ] to a maximum of 35° Celsius [ 95° F ]. During its growing season the Pachypodium lamerei is not adverse to some water, but in general a dry soil is best. An ordinary cactus-mix can be used as potting soil.
