It is obvious that the Lithops comptonii is a very special plant. The Lithops comptonii looks like a sort of green-brownish, smooth pebble lying flat on the ground. During its growth the ‘pebble’ seems to split in half thereby creating two round shapes with each one flattened side. In the crack between the two parts of the plant a large yellow flower will develop. It is indeed one of the most incredible plants on earth both in its appearance and in its inflorescence. Consequently the Lithops comptonii is a real ‘must-have’ for lovers of exotic flora. This Araflora plant is native to the dry areas of South Africa.
The South African exotic plant, Lithops comptonii is easy to care for. It thrives in a light spot and needs only little moisture. The plant makes few demands on the surrounding temperature as long as it is above freezing point. This sort grows naturally in rocky areas, where there is the ideal soil of small stones and pebbles. Araflora books good results with the Lithops comptonii by using a substrate of pebbles mixed with a little potting soil.
