The impatiens mackeyana originates in West Africa 'Cameroon and Gabon'. It is a polycarpic plant 'Meaning it flowers and sets seeds many times during its life'. The leafs are relatively large. Also notable is the shape of the flowers, which resemble shrimp.
Suitable as an indoor or pot plant. When temperatures are above 0 degrees the plant can be outdoors. Nutritious and permeable soil is suitable. Placement: light shade. Temperatures between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius are optimal, but lower temperatures can also be sustain, though the plant will bloom less.
