Euphorbia lactea is originally from the arid regions of India, Sri Lanka and parts of Southeast Asia. In its natural habitat the species grows as a succulent shrub or small tree that can reach several metres high. The ‘White Ghost’ variant, however, is a cultivar created by selective breeding, and does not occur in the wild. Due to its unusual colour this variant partially lacks the green chlorophyll pigments needed for photosynthesis, which explains its unique white appearance. The Araflora plant information symbols below will give you additional information for this plant.
The Euphorbia lactea ‘White Ghost’ has a striking candelabra-shaped growth with branched, triangular stems. These are white to cream-coloured, sometimes with pink or grey tones along the edges. Small, thorn-like spines sit symmetrically along the ribs – a subtle contrast to the soft colour of the plant. For additional information about this Araflora succulent see the symbols below. This Euphorbia is a sun-loving succulent that enjoys lots of light and warmth. Place it in a bright spot, preferably by a south or west facing window. Water sparingly – only when the soil has completely dried out. Well-draining cactus soil is essential to prevent root rot. In summer it can also be placed outside, as long as it is sheltered from rain and cold nights. For further care information of this Euphorbia see the care instructions from Araflora.
