Euphorbia decaryi is from Madagascar. Here they grow on the ground, among the bushes. Small bell-shaped flowers appear on the ends of the stems. As with all euphorbias, you must be careful of the poisonous milky sap that comes out of the Euphorbia decaryi when it is damaged. They do not like to be in the bright sun, but strong indirect light. It is wrongly thought that this is a difficult plant. However, it needs slightly more water than other succulents, so it will grow well.
The ideal summer temperature for this Euphorbia decaryi is around 25°C. In the winter it likes a minimum temperature of 15°C. The plant can best be potted in a well-draining substrate consisting of, for example, clay pellets, pumice or lava rock together with a little potting soil. This plant requires a generous amount of water in the summer, but it does not have to be constantly wet. Even in the winter months during its winter rest, the soil should never be allowed to dry out completely.
