The exotic plant, Columnea sanguine is native to Costa Rica and Panama. Its leaves are oval-shaped and glossy on the outside. They are light-green with a reddish-brown spot. Its flowers are orange-coloured and without scent. The Columnea sanguine thrives indoors at home or in the office. Araflora also sells ‘Xaxim [treefern]’ containers for this plant.
The Columnea sanguine is an easy-care exotic plant. It prefers to be in the light but not in full, direct sunlight. To provide the plant with moisture it is best placed in a saucer with water. The Columnea sanguine thrives in relatively high humidity, so a saucer with water or an occasional spraying with a siphon is a good idea. This plant can stand all temperatures prevalent in home or office from a minimum of 10° Celsius [ 50° F] upwards. The Columnea sanguine needs a soil that is permeable and provides sufficient nutrition. Araflora sells all kinds of soil mixtures also for the exotic Columnea species.
