The Calathea roseopicta ‘Rose’ is originally found in the rainforests of South America. The plant immediately stands out because of its leaves having amazing bright, pink undersides. The top of the leaves has a subtle marking. The marking on young leaves tends to be pink, but this will gradually turn whiter once the plant ages. During the summer the plant displays small, white and purple flowers.
Because this plant is originally found in rainforests, it’s best not to put the plant in direct sunlight. Make sure not to let the soil dry out in between watering. It’s also wise to mist the plant every now and then to make sure it’s stays humid enough. When choosing a spot for the Calathea, it would be wise not to place it near cold drafts as the minimum temperature of this plant is 15 degrees Celsius.
